Cultivating Creativity from Nature
For as long as I can remember, my hands have wanted to make something—color, texture, form. But a few years ago, life asked me to slow down. After decades of painting and designing with traditional materials, I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Healing meant more than medical care; it meant re-examining everything I touched and breathed. I began exploring the chemistry of natural pigments—berries, leaves, soil, beeswax—and something extraordinary happened: my body felt calmer, my art more alive, and my spirit deeply reconnected to the earth that had always inspired me.*
That quiet, transformative process has become Artisan Alchemy Studio™—a space where art, nature, and well-being meet.
*I am now in remission for 9 years!
🌿 What the Studio Is
Artisan Alchemy Studio™ is both an online classroom and a philosophy:
to create with the elements—soil, air, fire, and water—in ways that sustain us instead of depleting us.
Through courses, workshops, and curated art kits, I guide artists and seekers to:
Forage responsibly for natural materials in their own landscapes.
Craft handmade brushes, inks, and papers from plants and minerals.
Create expressive, soulful art rooted in mindfulness and sustainability.
Reflect through journaling and gentle rituals that restore balance.
The Studio’s first offering, Soil to Soul™ – Cultivating Creativity from Nature, opens soon to a founding circle of students.
It’s a four-module journey that moves from gathering and grounding to creating and reflecting—transforming natural materials into personal works of art.
🪶 Why It Matters
In a world moving faster every day, many of us have lost touch with the rhythm that first called us to create.
Working with nature slows that rhythm back down.
It reminds us that color grows, brushes decay, and beauty doesn’t come from perfection but from participation.
When we make art this way, we heal a little—ourselves and the planet that gives us our materials.
